So way back when I was in Germany over the Christmas season, I was introduced to St. Nicholas' Day. And that day is today December 6. Now what happened while I was in Germany was that on December 5th the family I was staying with instructed me and their kids to leave out a pair of shoes outside our bedroom doors.. So I did. And the next Morning on December 6th. I found an orange, a little bit of money, some candy, and a little sun surprise.. It was a darning mushroom, if I remember correctly. Anyway, I loved the idea so much that I wanted to start that tradition after I got married. Well this was the first year that..
A. I remembered and
B. That my husband was HERE at home.
SO... This morning he went to PT at 5am I filled his army work boots with goodies... And when he got home, he was like, "oh my goodness!!! WHAT IS ALL OF THIS?!?!" It was cute! So I am happy that I remembered and that I was able to bless my husband, he likes the tradition and wants to do it in the years to come with our children!
Today, December 6th is St.Nicholas' feast day or as we call them his birthday! :)
