Military Spouse Quiz......

I saw this fun quiz posted at *The New "Normal"* and I thought it looked like a lot of fun! So here goes!

The MilSpouse Quiz

1. How did you and your spouse meet?
Well it's funnier from my husbands' side of things. I had just gotten home from a 9 month long stay in Germany as an au`pair. And one of our pastors from the church had asked me to speak shortly on my stay there and what I did. So my husband first "saw" me up in front of church stammering about my stay in Germany.. *I am NOT a public speaker* anyway he said he was instantly attracted to me and was repulsed at himself because he noticed that I was wearing a "ring" on my ring finger *a promise ring* and then when I went to go sit down with my family, my then 5 or 6 year old brother sat on my lap, so he thought that I wasn't only married but I had a kid too! However that summer my sister and I started attending a college age Bible study group, and it was there that we "met" and he realized to his relief and joy that I was indeed NOT married or a mom! :)

2. How old were you when you two met?
I was 23 and he was 27......

5. How did you feel about him joining the military?
Proud, happy, kind of sad too cause I thought that he liked me and he never really said anything regarding his feelings to me or my family... He then left for basic training.. So I thought.. Great I'm never going to see him again.. LoL... Little did I know!

6. Where did your spouse go to Basic Training?
Fort Jackson, South Carolina

7. Has your spouse ever been deployed?

9. How long have you been a military wife?

10. Did you marry him before or after he joined?
After!

11. How did your husband propose?
Humm... Well after Basic and AIT... He had a one week at home recruiting time. This was the first time we saw each other since he had asked my Dad and Mom permission to court me. Anyway, I was pretty sure he was going to ask me at some point during this once week time frame. Well day by day went and daily he would tell me that this was the day he was going to ask my parents permission to marry me. LoL.. So on a Friday afternoon, he went over to my parents house and asked for my hand in marriage. They had a 4 hour conversation and my parents gave their blessings! So my family and my hubby tried to come up with a way to surprise me with the purposal but to no avvial any ideas any of them had ended up NOT working... However this is how it went down.. Saturday night he came over for dinner. My mom fixed a very YUMMY dinner and classed it up by putting eadible flowers on alot of the different meal componets... It was romantic in the since that if was my *soon to be* husband, me, my parents and 5 younger siblings... :) No really it was fun, exciting, and I loved every second of it.. Then my mom sent us off on a walk. We walked around the neighborhoods a little bit and ended up at the park. I have always loved this park it's just so green with a small irriagation stream running through it.. Anyway, he searched for the perfect spot. lol I knew what was coming.. I was excited and nervous and had NO clue what to expect. Anyway, he sat me down, and got down on one knee.. *Ooooo my hubby will kill me for typing this out..* He didn't even get 4 words out before he started crying. He told me how much he loved me, how he couldn't believe how lucky he was to have me in his life, That he had given up hope of ever finding a woman who wanted to be with him *Forever and Always*... That he felt so blessed to be able to ask me this question.. then he said it.. "Will you do me the incredible honour of becoming my wife?" While saying those little words, he opened up a ring box... Of course I said yes with tears streaking down my face... We sealed the promise with a hug... We had talked about it and wanted our first kiss to be at the alter when the Pastor says
"You may now kiss your bride.." (Wow sorry for the LONG answer... sheesh!)
