How And Why Did This Happen??????

I know! I know! It's been.... A long while since I have blogged. Life has been "as my loving husband would say..." IN....TER....EST....ING!!!!! You might be wondering what's with the title? Well last Thursday my life changed...
I had just gotten home from dinner with a girlfriend of mine and her newly redeployed husband... I went in through my side door as usual. Which I had forgotten was having issues.. *door knob was getting hard to turn* thought to self as I opened the door, I need to remember to talk to my neighbor about this. I went to shut the door, and it wouldn't shut. Hummm I tried a variety of ways to get my door shut... Slamming.. *It didn't work* pushing the do-hickey in.... *Humm it didn't work either* Turning the knob as hard as I could... *nope that didn't work either* then for good measure I slammed it one last time.. BINGO.. it worked.. Sweet I thought to myself.. Then I locked it... Smiling to myself, but wait.. What's this?? I look at the kitchen table. There is a wooden box that my husband bought for me in Iraq.. It's sitting on the table.. Humm that's not where that was when I left the house... I pick it up and focus on my home.... All I can say, is I never realized such a flood of feelings could rush through a person so violently.. I wanted to vomit, cry, scream, swear... I did neither.. I just remember saying "Oh Lord...NO... WHY!!!!!!????" My home had been broken into... What I saw when I focused on the rest of my home... My living room was pulled apart.. the TV.. Gone. My Laptop.. Gone. I venture further into my home... My bedroom was the worst.. All my clothes had been gone through.. dresser drawers pulled out and emptied.. My new and nice camera that my husband had gotten for me for our Anniversary.. Gone. His nice camera.. Gone.. My ipod and some other wiring...Gone. They had gone through my jewelry box which the only piece of jewelry I kept in there.. My old promise ring.. Gone. However all my other jewelry was hanging up in plan sight it was still there... Odd.... All the printer cables.. Gone. The Printer... Still there.. More Odd.... I go into the guest bedroom... nothing is really touched in there besides the file cabinet.. which they took nothing from... Odd... And I look up and see the back window is wide open... No screen.. I shiver, go toward the window and look out.. My antique sewing machine is laying out side.. our iron... and a laundry basket...
Yes the cops were called. It took them about 2 1\2 hours to respond... And they took down all the serial numbers that I had.. So if anyone tried to pawn something they would get caught.. To answer your question. NO we didn't have renters insurance. However I am proud and happy to say that NOW we have renters insurance. I am also happy to say that a couple from my church has helped me burglar proof my home... So I feel much safer and happy here in my home... As for our stuff.... That's all it was, it was stuff.. Nothing has been returned, and honestly, I don't ever see any of it being returned.
Was I scared? Yes. Am I still scared? in the middle of the night when I hear weird nosies? Yes. Do I let the fear control me? No... Hence why even before my home was burglar proofed, I stayed in our home. The first night was the only night I let the fear get to me.

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of sound mind..." 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

So that is my story... I am hoping to get a camera soon, so I can start posting pictures again. As you can tell I have a computer now, which I am very VERY thankful for.. And thanks to another FRG leader, I have a temp. TV till I can buy another one.. Because contrary to lack of posting I have been SUPER busy and very productive..

Anyway, I wasn't going to post this... BUT I have had so many requests for the story, I thought it would be good to write out. Thank you to all who prayed for me and encouraged me along the way...
