The beginning..... Here is a nice vintage point right before you get started on the Pike's Peak highway....
While going up you have to watch out for BIGFOOT! He has been known the "lurk" in this area! And if you are quick with a camera you too can get your picture taken with him...
About half way up there is a small cabin used as a giftshop, restarea.... It's very pretty with the surrounding area!
OH!!!! The little fox you see.... His name is "WILBER" He was SO VERY CUTE! And he was sorta kinda trainned. He would come up so close to the car or even people just standing in the parking lot. And would sit and "pose" for pictures it was so funny.... I got one picture were it looks like he is smiling.... VERY CUTE!
Then at the top..... after driving UP for so long.... The veiw at the top..... Was so grand and breath takingly beautiful....How can one not believe in GOD when you look out at HIS amazing and awesome creation!!!! "Then God said,"Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear";and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth, and the waters He called the Seas. And God saw that it WAS GOOD!" Genesis 1:9-10
So that was our trip up Pike's Peak... However on the way up and down there are 90* turns and the road narrow a lot! Plus on the way down there are warnings about what todo if your braeks start to get to hot.... It was fun but scary too! On some of those turns there are NO gaurd rails... And it gets steep at some points too, to where you can only see sky and no road... It was very much an adventure for sure....
Until next time!
Be Safe. Be Blessed and Be A Blessing!
Well, I have to say, Bigfoot looks very hairy, it reminds me of someone, oh yeah, ME! Well, I loved the pictures. they look awesome and if I am ever in that area, I will have to travel up to the Peak and see for myself.
ReplyDeleteThe way you were describing heading back down the hill reminds me of when we all went up and down the Paulina Peak last summer. Lots of fun.
Very nice pictures, it's really the second most visited mountain in the world? I could think of lots I thought would hold that honor!=)
