So something BIG happened.... I not only looked up houses, called on houses, spoke to multiple Realtors. I went to house showings, filled out multiple applications. Had to sign my husbands' name multiple times, copy off POA's and LES's on my own. Had to go into my old leasing office and ask them their procedure on the whole 30 day notice thing... I waited long days to hear back from Realtors.. I NEVER!! NEVER!!! Thought in a million years would I be doing this on my own. I thought being married met doing all this hard and stressful stuff together. Being able to bounce ideas around face to face. Not over email and a few short phone calls here and there. It's amazing though, I always thought my husband would have final say in these big decisions, I mean yes I would have input but he would have the final "yes" or "no". My husband though, has put most of the "decisions into my hands and care while he is deployed" A very scary and stressful thing I have come to realize...
However.. Tuesday morning... I found out some wonderful news... the words "You got the house" were spoken to me. I was dumbfounded and a little skeptical.. Sure....Right.... I bet they called the wrong person... HOWEVER this morning I walk into the Realtors office. And my name as well as my husbands' was on the lease... Oh My Goodness... So after reading through the lease... I believe it was 6 pages of type 10 print... I signed my name on the dotted line. Dated it and then signed my husband's name. I payed the Realtor and she handed over the keys.. However a funny thing was mentioned to me. I have also been told that I just did a typical Army Wife thing... Moving while my husband is deployed. This friend who told me this is an Army wife who has moved 3 or 4 times while her husband has been deployed multiple times.
All I have to say is that the fun isn't over yet... I still have to:
-Schedule a date to have my apartment inspected.
-Call utilities to get them switched on at the house &
to have them read the meter one final time when I move out.
-Change my address.... AGAIN.. Sheesh I was changing my address and moving last year at the time... CRAZY...
-Give my apartment office the 30 day's notice.
-Call my Internet provider to see if I need to do anything spacial to move,
-Organize a "Move" date. So I can have a few men from my church come and help me.
-Call the landlord to see if I can paint
-clean and maybe paint a few rooms before I move in.
-Strat packing up apartment.
Now the tricky thing is... getting it done before October 1. I have 14 days and counting! Craziness... And that's JUST for the moving issues. There's other aspects of life I have to worry about, focus on and put my heart into as well...
(On a side note... I mustn't complain too much. I have had friends and family stand by me, and encourage me every step of the way. I just miss my husband something horrid right now.....)
*The only thing that would make this a "picture perfect" moment is if my husband was standing by my side....*
Be Safe! Be Blessed and Be A Blessing!
