Linens & Things......

Okay okay.... weird and cheesy title, what can I say!? It's the best I can come up with at 0415! Blah, my husbands new work schedule is hard getting used to but of course that could be because we are on day two of the *new* schedule... He has to be at work by 0330 and then I go and pick him up around 1300/1pm. So I have to get all my chours and errands done before 1300\1:pm and I am finding this hard... There is this HUGE temptation to go back to my warm and snuggy bed when I get home around 0400\4am from dropping him off. Anyway, thought I would share some pictures of what we have been up to! So our dryer broke, and my wonderful hubby came up with this clothes line so then I would be able to stop going to the laundry-mat until we get our NEW washer and dryer! Yes that will be a post all in of itself. However the *NEW* washer and dryer will not be here till Saturday... So I will use the clothes line, hey who know's I may even use the clothes line after I get the new dryer!!!!

I don't know why but I find linens hanging on a clothes line almost romantic... Am I the only weird one here?!?! I think I am!

This is our backyard that is 3\4 weeds and 1]4 newly planted grass! :) I say it looks great! My husband did an amazing job on the backyard!

Our little patio.. In the corner, int he red pot are some raspberries that we brought home with us all the way from my Mommy's garden in Oregon!!! They are doing amazingly well!

hahaha NOT so sure what this is... BUT my husband made it into a planter... He took some bricks that were laying around and made a planter around it, I hope to get a pot and some flowers in the top of it, once I find a pot that will fit this weird shaped hole!!!

So in this long\little bed are wildflowers... That my husband and I planted... And for some weird reason they are coming up really good here, however out front where we planted most of them...sigh.... they are deciding NOT to come up.... This upsets me.. However we got these wild flowers from *American Meadows* you can get wild flower seeds that are meant for your area... I can't wait till they start blooming! I will post pics for sure!

A little mushroom that my sister Katy gave me! It is by our side door and it has black oil sunflowers sprouting by it! :)

More black oil sunflowers on the other side of the door....

... and more sunflowers over by the fence! LoL yes what can I say... I LOVE SUNFLOWERS!!!!!

LoL this is the *nice* part of the front yard! What can I say, I was going to plant grass, but first I wanted to see if the grass my husband planted int he back even sprouted! And did you know it can take up to 30 DAYS for grass to sprout!?!?! Anyway when it did FINALLY sprout it is SO LATE in the season now, that it would be silly for me to plant it... sigh because it looks like we might be moving in September.... No where new city wise, but my husband and I really want a dog and in this rental we can't have ANY animals... Not even a FISH! It's really rather sad. LoL... However I don't know how well you can see it, but on the ground is a little bird house that looks like a boot that my hubby bought for me and then by the little boot is a set of mushrooms that my Mommy gave me!! I *ahem* am liking garden trash as my family calls it. I used to laugh at my mom over getting so excited getting this like bird houses, or just little statues... but now I get gitty over it too!

This is something my husband made for me. I had some flowers that I dried and had seen this idea putting them behind an old window pane... Well those are really expensive, however my husband and I went out and bought the supplies to make one. We bought a shadow box, some balsa wood, and crakeling gel\paint stuff... and my husband recreated the idea for me! I think it's really pretty that that he did an amazing job! He lined the inside with some fabric that I had and then arranged the dried flowers too!

The finished product....

...details... Crackle gel\paint is amazing!!!

This is a new feture in our kitchen.. We bought the shelf at Goodwill for $4.00 and then my sister in law gave me all these miniture sunflower tea sets when I was visiting in New York this year... And I thought this would be a perfect way to display them!

This is something I copied from a magazine... I made a copy of this tree picture that we got from my husband's mom in New York and then I printed out this poem on it...
~*~Do It Anyway~*~
"People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway."

-Mother Teresa-
I really like this poem, it is very well writen and very true!

Here is something I just framed too... It was my husband and I and our first hug when he returned from deployment... And then hanging next to it is a poem I found in a little notebook my husband carried with him while he was deployed in Iraq, I believe he wrote it...
…..Only Time….
"only time can, keep us apart
only time can, create a separation
only time can, be a burden
only time can, heal
only time can, create memories
only time can, create a lasting love
only time can, bring us together
only time can, show us the way
Only Time Can….."

This is a sunflower picture he drew for me... and it is now in our kitchen..

Copied this from a magazine too...
It's a picture of us on our wedding day, with this poem printed out...
“I Do”
This is your story come true. Your journey of marriage begins with “I Do”. Cherish this bond; it belongs to only the two of you. Start each day with gratitude and compassion for each other, and unconditional love will follow. Believe in each other; support each other’s dreams. Remember to dream together too. Always give more than you think the other needs. Say “I love you” and “thank you” every day. Trust, respect, and appreciate each other. Be spontaneous, be fun, be romantic! Stand together, but let there be space in your togetherness. Know when to listen, to talk, to let your heart feel. Apologize. Forgive and forget- doing so will make you feel better! Work together. Play together. Pray together. Allow God to be the foundation of your marriage. You have been chosen for each other… it is His plan. With each passing year, you will grow closer together; drawing strength from one another… and two shall become one. You will be blessed with the greatest happiness in life, to love and to be loved."

I mean really, it's 0540/5:40am and I NEED coffee, more like I NEED coffee to drag my sorry butt up and out of bed at 0245/2:45 am when my husband gets up!!! So I hope that you enjoyed this most rambeling and odd post.
Be Safe! Be Blessed and Be A Blessing...
